Daredevil isn’t seeking forgiveness for what he’s done—he’s asking forgiveness for what he’s about to do. And that’s fight baddies, because he’s just trying to make his city a better place.
Those are the two groanworthy lines in the otherwise decent trailer for Marvel and Netflix’s Daredevil. Yes, Daredevil is not unique in wanting to improve the quality of life for his fellow citizens—here, it’s in New York City, specifically Hell’s Kitchen—but the fact that his mask has no eyeholes is kind of impressive.
What will be key is how the series handles Matt Murdock’s (Charlie Cox) blindness and how it heightens his remaining senses. The trailer sets up some interesting soundscapes we can see Daredevil tap into as he goes after his first round of villains. Speaking of, is that Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk that we glimpse?
You’ll be able to watch the entirety of season 1 of Daredevil on Netflix on April 10.
